Press Play Mini Book - Brutus Monroe

 

Hi! I'm super excited to share this mini book that I created for Brutus Monroe using products from the new release. I attached 3 A2 Card Bases together to make this book that documents some of my favorite movies, television shows, and bands. The Directional Ways Mixed Media Stencil is fantastic! I used it with yellow and orange dye ink to decorate the front and back covers of this book. The Remote King Stamp and Die Set is so fun! I stamped and embossed the remote on black cardstock with white embossing powder. I also stamped the remote in black on white cardstock, colored all the buttons with markers, and then cut them out by hand and glued them onto the black embossed remote. The effect is a more 3D remote that looks so real! I'll definitely be using this set again and again.

I stenciled stars onto the background of each 2-page spread and added a simple hand-drawn border with a black marker. I used the Electronic Icons Stamp Set to embellish the pages of this album with vintage television, VHS, boom box, and cassette designs. I printed scenes from my favorite movies and cut them to fit inside the stamped TVs. You may recognize the stills from "Deathproof," "Scarface," "Silence of the Lambs," "The Godfather Part 2," and "Goodfellas."

I stamped and colored smaller designs from the Theater Icons and Marquee Sentiments stamp sets and placed them around the TV sets.

I've been known to binge watch a television series or two. I used a similar design for this second spread that features some of my favorite shows. You may recognize scenes from "Peaky Blinders," "The Sopranos," "Breaking Bad," "Stranger Things," and "Trailer Park Boys."

Again, I stamped and colored smaller designs from the Theater Icons and Marquee Sentiments stamp sets and placed them around the TV sets.

The last two-page spread features the boom box stamp and stamped cassettes that showcase some of my favorite bands. It was hard to narrow it down 10. This mini book could really be dozens of pages!

I used the Mix It Up Stamp of the Month for the "You Rock My World" sentiment and the heart tape tangle on the second page of this spread.

I ended up with an extra stamped TV, so I added it to the back cover.
