Oz Paper Bag Album - Brutus Monroe

 

Hi! I reimagined a trip to Oz in this mixed media album that I created with paper bags and a Little Golden Book for Brutus Monroe. I mixed White Gesso with the Something Wicked This Way Comes Aqua Pigment Bundle to create paint to color the base pages of the album. Next, I used stencils and patterned paper to further embellish the pages, before applying fussy cut pictures from the storybook and adding stamped text. Who do Dorothy and her pals find behind the curtain? Not the Wizard, but Christopher Alan! It’s fun to create your own ending!

My 17-year-old helped me transform the wizard from the book into our fearless leader, Christopher Alan. I added a plaid shirt to Christopher and a stamped Christopher-ism sentiment to the page. I added glitter and glaze to the tin man's heart to help it pop.
