Hello Zinnias Scrapbook Layout - Brutus Monroe

Fall scrapbook layout featuring a woven paper background, stamped and stenciled floral-patterned paper, die-cut embellishments, and chipboard title.

Hi! I'm sharing a scrapbook layout that I created for Brutus Monroe today. I've had temperatures in the mid-80s, and the zinnias are loving it! If this is Fall weather, I want to hold on to it for as long as I can! I had a lot of fun putting together this layout using weaving strips, cutting dies, and a stamp and stencil combo that made coloring the stamped floral print paper a breeze.

I used Weaving Strips, Sentiment Strips, and thin pieces of gold glitter cardstock that I cut, to create the woven paper background for this page. I used Red Aqua Pigment and Tangerine Orange Chroma Mist to color the white cardstock strips before weaving. I used Wagon Cardstock for the base of this page, a color that I absolutely love. The red-orange hue paired well with the color mediums I chose as well as my photo of flowers in bloom.

I created my own patterned paper using the Fall Florals 6x8 Stamp Set and the Autumn Floral Layering Stencils. After stamping the flower design, I used the stencils with dye ink and blending brushes to color the blooms. The stencils line up perfectly with the stamped image and because the stencils are layered, I can use one color of ink on each stencil to fill in the flowers quickly to create this colorful print. It would have taken me much more time and skill to color each bloom by hand. I applied flat back crystals to some of the flower centers for a touch of dimensional sparkle. I'm absolutely thrilled with the result and will be using these products again and again!

I created this title spot using cutting dies, a butterfly stamp, and a portion of the Hello Fall chipboard set. The chipboard is thin enough to easily cut with a pair of scissors without damaging the design. The "hello" portion of the chipboard sentiment was just what I needed to mimic the butterfly adorned flower in the photo for the title of this layout.
