Bee Yourself Journal with Beaded Binding - Brutus Monroe

 

Hi! I created this journal using lined paper, cardstock, and punched chipboard pieces as inspiration for a funky binding. I knew as soon as I saw the chipboard that I wanted to use the holes creatively. The Painted Florals paper pad made a great bold cover.

I created shrink charms using the Blooming Heart Stamp and Stencil, and then added beads to jump rings, that I then inserted into pierced holes through a piece of embossed chipboard to make a fun and colorful binding that is just as strong as a traditional spiral binding. I used a hole punch to cut the larger circles down the center of the binding to line up with the open spaces in the chipboard piece and decided to leave them free of embellishment.

I decorated the cover with patterned paper and then added dimension to several flowers by layering fussy cuts, glitter glazed die-cuts and flat back crystals.

I used the Bee Yourself Stamp Set and the Sunny Friends Cutting Dies to create a simple positive sentiment and die-cut bee embellishment for the cover.
