Hi! I created this mixed media scrapbook layout to document the family cats and dogs on the “no pets allowed” couch in my brother’s sunroom using the amazing new Spring Awakening release from Brutus Monroe. Any visiting animal, and my brother’s own furry friends, gravitate towards this colorful spot for naps. The bold color palette of the Painted Petals Paper Pad is perfect for documenting these fun memories.
I used the new pastel Chroma Mist in Ladybug, Marigold, and Bluebell to add subtle dots of color to the base sheet of Midnight cardstock. I also used a stencil and the Amethyst Embossing Powder of the Month to add small hearts around the page. This paper collection has me crossing over to the dark side (of my cardstock stash) and I love the result!
I foiled the new Doodle Bookmarks after coloring them with a bold color palette of Sharpie markers. I cut rectangles from sequin sheets to layer under the bookmarks for extra shine. To add dimension to each floral section on the page, I fussy cut flowers from the paper pad and adhered them to the layout with adhesive foam squares.
I colored chipboard border pieces with the new Fluid Acrylic Paint Bundle and then topped them with a layer of Blueberry Swirl Creative Confections. These chipboard borders are a great way to add layers to a design.
I applied the same Green Sketch foil to a Wood Etched card panel and cut out a heart for a title spot. I used markers to color the heart and then added the sentiment using the Happy Heart Stamp Set. The words, and the doodle heart (not shown) fit inside these hearts perfectly!
Each embellished and layered doodle bookmark segment has a photo of a furry friend lounging on the couch. These animals have figured out pretty quickly who is in charge! I filled in some of the blank space around the page with more fussy cut flowers.
