Happy St. Patrick's Day! I created this layout celebrating my Irish ancestry for Brutus Monroe. This photo was taken 5 generations back on the beautiful rolling hills of Ireland around 1901.
I inked and foiled a background for the photo using the Clever Clover Layering Stencil. This stencil set is two pieces and forms a circle of clovers when both are used together. I used one stencil to emboss the background with Foil Reactive Embossing Powder and then ran it through my Minc with different shades of green transfer foil. I recommend foiling first, because the foil will also transfer to ink. Then I used the second stencil to fill in the rest of the circle with inked clovers. Any ink that overlaps onto the foiled portions of the design can be easily wiped away with a microfiber cloth. I also used the stencil with patterned paper to cut some orange shamrocks for a pop of color.
I embellished the right side of the photo with a piece of ribbon and my family name, which I stamped using the Marquee Sentiments Stamp Set.
I used cutting dies and stamps to create a rainbow title spot. I decided to frame the entire layout with gold glitter cardstock for extra sparkle. I cut quarter-inch strips of sticky-back gold glitter cardstock to create a border around the layout rather than using a full sheet.
