Motor City Monuments Scrapbook Layout - Brutus Monroe

 

Hi! I'm celebrating my hometown of Detroit, Michigan on this scrapbook layout that features some of my favorite monuments in the city that I created for Brutus Monroe. The latest mini release is called City View and it is a must-have if you're a big city lover like me.

I embellished my fussy cut photo of the Detroit skyline with a piece of chipboard from the City Skyline set and patterned paper from the 6x6 City View Paper Pad. I was recently in Windsor, Ontario, Canada for a concert and I was able to take a photo of Detroit from the other side of the river. It's definitely the best view of the city that I've seen. I separated the layers of chipboard and patterned paper with 3D foam to add dimension to the page.

I used photos of three of my favorite Detroit monuments on this layout. If you've even seen a movie filmed in Detroit, "The Fist," "The Spirit of Detroit," and "Transcending" are usually featured in the film. If you've never been to Detroit and you'd like to see these landmarks in person, it super easy to view them all because they're located on the same block!

I printed these photos on matte paper because I had it out for the skyline photo at the top of the page. It's much easier to cut and I didn't mind not having the gloss finish that I usually go for.

I randomly grabbed a free copy of the Metro Times the last time I was in the city, and I found the perfect title for this layout printed on one of the pages.
