Hi! I'm celebrating my love of coffee on this mixed media coffee bean shaker scrapbook layout that I created for Brutus Monroe. Resin coffee beans, stenciled coffee rings, and Americano dyed frame come together on this fun page that smells as good as it looks due to the Espresso scented glaze.
Turkish coffee is made by boiling finely ground coffee beans with water (and often sugar) in a special pot called a cezve (or ibrik). Unlike other coffee brewing methods, Turkish coffee is unfiltered, meaning the coffee grounds remain in the cup when served, resulting in a thick and potent beverage. If it's on the menu, I always order it.
I framed my photo with a large coffee ring that I cut from patterned paper. I put that on top of thin patterned paper strips and a piece of cardstock that I covered with Espresso Glaze. I used a heat gun to speed up the drying process and it smelled like roasting coffee!
I created the frame for this layout out of weaving strips that I dyed with the Americano Dobber. The sponge applicator is fun because a saturated top can create splatters if slammed down onto the paper. I glued a sheet of acetate to the frame and then added three layers of foam adhesive around the page. I poured in some resin coffee beans to fill the white space and then sealed the shaker page with a piece of white cardstock embellished with stenciled coffee rings.
