Oz Mixed Media Accordion Journal - Brutus Monroe

 

Hi! Your options are UNLIMITED when working with the Mixed Media Accordion Journal from Brutus Monroe! I used products from the new Bubbles and Broomsticks release for this project. 

I pressed the Perfect Pair stamp into melted wax to create a seal for the cover of this journal. I layered a print from the Poppy Garden Paper Pad with new shades of Glitterstock to decorate the front cover.

I'm DEFYING GRAVITY with over 5 feet of whimsically designed Oz themed pages. From the glittering yellow brick road to a star-filled night sky with a soaring zeppelin, I had a WICKED GOOD time creating my own ending!

I covered the journal pages with all of the new shades of blue cardstock from the Chromatic Reserve collection and then embellished with chipboard, die-cuts, fussy cuts, stencils, and stamping. I incorporated products released from the past couple of years with the new Bubbles and Broomsticks items. Christopher Alan, in his infinite wisdom, designs collections in such a way that they work together beautifully, even when released years apart.

I created my Emerald City using a chipboard piece of the Pittsburg skyline that I embossed with Spellbound Embossing Powder. If you look closely, you can see the team waving from Brutus Monroe headquarters!

My second favorite section of this journal includes this framed soaring hot air balloon scene. I used the Up and Away Stamp Set to create the image, which I colored with Shimmer Splash. I then added dimension with fussy cut clouds. I used the Fancy Frame Foil Plate to deboss the pink frame from a piece of cardstock. I cut out the frame by hand and then added the gold gilding with embossing powder, using the foil plate as a stamp. A couple of Light Pink Flat Back Crystals and a Glitter Glazed die-cut rainbow finished the scene with even more sparkle.
