Hi! I created this vintage postcard style card using the SVG Class Stamp Set from Brutus Monroe. I really leaned into the postcard theme of the stamp set and pulled some items from my stash to create this postcard design. I layered strips of Glitterstock on the base of the card and then topped it with a hand-drawn postcard that I embellished with stamped and stenciled elements.
This card is not a part of the class. If you'd like to create this card, I've shared the instructions below.
Cut an A2 Card Base in half along the score line. Select one 4 1/4 inches by 5 1/2-inch panel to work with for this step. Trim Ruby, Cream, Sapphire, and Sterling Glitterstock into 1/4-inch strips. Position the card panel in the horizontal position on the work surface and apply glue or double-sided tape to the cardstock. Lay the strips of Glitterstock across the cardstock as shown. Use scissors to trim away the overhanging Glitterstock.
Trim the other half of the A2 Card Base to measure 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches. Use a black pen to draw a frame 1/4-inch in from the edges of the cardstock. Draw a 2 1/4-inch vertical line 2 inches from the left side and 3/4 inches from the top side of the frame. Brush Weeping Willow, or dark brown ink, onto the edges of the cardstock.
Use Raven Detail Ink to stamp a square frame and the hot air balloon love stamps onto white cardstock. Use Pixie Tape to cover the border of the square frame. Use the Cloud Masks and Simon Hurley Clear Skies Ink to brush clouds onto the background of the square frame. Color the hot air balloon with markers. Brush Weeping Willow Ink onto the edges of both stamped designs. Use Foam Squares to attach the hot air balloon to the center of the square frame.
Use Raven Detail Ink to stamp 3 love letters and the sealed with a kiss sentiment onto white cardstock. Use markers to color the love letters.
Assemble the card. Use Foam Squares to attach the hot air balloon stamp to the top right corner of the card panel and the sealed with a kiss sentiment along the bottom right edge of the card panel. Glue 1 love letter to the center of the left portion of the card panel. Use Foam Squares to attach the remaining 2 love letters to the left portion of the card panel as shown. Use a ruler and a black pen to draw 3 2-inch lines, 1/4-inch apart under the hot air balloon stamp. Use a ruler and a black pen to draw a 1 1/4-inch line, 1/4-inch under the 2-inch lines.
Apply Foam Squares to the back of the card panel and press onto the striped Glitterstock postcard base.
