Butterfly Trinket Dishes - Aladine

Trio of Butterfly Stamped Air Dry Clay Trinket Dishes Painted with Aladine Izink Pigment Ink

Hi! I'm sharing a fun tutorial that features some of my favorite things today; butterflies and IZINK Pigment Ink from Aladine. IZINK pigment ink is an acrylic based opaque ink with a fantastic shimmer. This liquid ink works great for all kinds of crafts. I used it with ACTÍVA Hearty Air Dry Clay and the Stampo Butterfly Clear Stamp Set to create trinket dishes.

Supplies:
Aladine Pigment IZINK: Tomato, Geranium, Tulip, Safran, Mimosa, Cactus, Turquoise, Amethist, Gold, Jasmine, Caviar
Stampo Butterfly Clear Stamp Set
ACTÍVA Hearty Air Dry Clay

Rolled Flat Air Dry Clay and Brayer

Step 1: Roll out the clay into a flat disc.

Step 2: Firmly press a Butterfly stamp into the clay. Press the stamped clay into a small dish mold and remove any excess clay from the edge of the dish. Carefully remove the wet clay from the dish and let dry overnight. Note: I used a glass dish as a mold for my clay. A free-form dish would also look amazing!

Step 3: Drop several colors of Pigment IZINK onto a craft mat. Use a paintbrush to apply the ink to the dishes. Once the ink is dry, apply a protective finish to the dishes with a spray sealant.

Here's the video tutorial:

I really love these stamped dishes! I hope I have inspired you to try working with a new medium. IZINK pigment ink is so fun to work with. Check out my other IZINK projects:
