Kin - Revisited

Paper: Fancy Pants, Pink Paislee
Alphas: American Crafts
Stickers: Pink Paislee
Flower, Crystals: Prima

Out of the hundreds of layouts we create, we all have our favorites. This month's Croppy Cat Challenge at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking is all about celebrating a favorite layout, by recreating it with a twist. I LOVE the bold layout featuring my two daughters that I created with Moxxie papers (below). I was curious to see how a more subtle version of this page would look in black and white. My new "Kin" layout features my youngest daughter Scarlett and my Nephew Dylan. With a quick glance at the photo, one would almost think they were twins. They had a fabulous time playing with each other during our trip home this month. The {SAS}sy team would love to see your favorite layout and your take on this challenge. Thanks for playing along and happy scrapping!

Fabulous News!

I am very happy to say that I am now a part of the talented staff at Scrapbook News and Review Magazine! If you're not famaliar with Scrapbook News and Review Magazine please go check it out. If you already love SNR, then you know each issue is full of articles, call submissions, color palettes, mini albums and sketches in the form of traditional paper layouts, cards and stamping, digital and mixed media projects. SNR also has an inspirational user gallery, video tutorials, a card universe and a technique tags group in addition to their forum!

SNR is always looking for paper crafting projects that are of a wide variety of styles, subjects and sizes as well traditional, hybrid or digital formats. After all, SNR was created with the goal that all scrapbookers, no matter what their style or skill set, should have the opportunity to have their creations published. That means SNR is looking for projects from clean and simple to everything thrown at the page. SNR's focus is on the artwork itself, the topic, the theme, and the journaling, and the way its heart and soul shines through. You don't need advanced skills with an eye for graphic design or know how to craft the perfect page. Actually, you need only two things: the desire to create and the ability to hit the submit button. So what are you waiting for? Upload your artwork today for a real chance to be published! Click HERE for to view the current call descriptions.

Do Bad Things

Paper: Hambly Screen Prints
Alphas: Jenni Bowlin
Flower: Prima
Paint: Making Memories

I created this page for the Design Dollies Elements Challenge. For this challenge, use your favorite t.v. show theme song for inspiration. One of my favorite shows is True Blood. Here are some of the theme song lyrics:

When you came in the air went out
And every shadow filled up with doubt.
I don't know who you think you are;
But before the night is through;
I wanna do bad things with you.

I usually don't take photos when I'm doing bad things ;) so I used one of the posters from the show. The red paint dripping from the top of my page is my version of fake blood. The Dollies want to know what t.v. show inspires you! Link up your newly created projects to the Dollhouse for your chance to win the August Elements prize!

Moody Blues

Cardstock: Wausau
Alphas: American Crafts
Flowers: Prima
Pearls: Basic Grey
Photo Corners: We R Memory Keepers
Miscellaneous: Fabric Scraps

I created this layout for the August Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Scrapbook Play Challenge. Who says there are rules in scrapbooking? The {SAS}sy Scrapbook Play Challenges will help you "cut loose" and open your eyes to all the rules you follow, consciously or not. There are so many new paper collections debuting at summer CHA that it's easy to feel a little overwhelmed. For this month's challenge, we're taking a break from all that paper and using fabric on a layout. If you like to break the rules, these challenges are for you! The {SAS}sy team would love to have you play along this month.
