One world really can speak volumes. This new continuing series in Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, features a new word each month. The word for February was "Delight."  I took this photo of myself while I was attending one of my husband's gigs with my girls.  I can't think of a better time than listening to live music.

The word for May is "Imagine."  Submit your artwork by April 12th for your chance to be published!

Carving Out Memories - {SAS}sy Scrap Your Stash Challenge

Paper: Prima
Letter Stickers: Cosmo Cricket, Jenni Bowlin
 Flowers: Precocious Paper, Prima
Leaves: Recollections
 Chipboard: Prima
Calendar: Elle's Studio
 Butterfly Button: Chatterbox
Rox: Queen & Company
Ribbon: Offray
Mist: Tattered Angels
Pen: Zig
Sketch: Carey Bridges

I created this layout for the March Scrap Your Stash Challenge at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. We were asked to use a background paper that was difficult to scrap, old Prima, a calendar, ribbon and stickers.  I'm really happy with how this page turned out and I'm always happy to use up my older stash.

As a reminder, all scrappers who complete the minimum amount of {SAS}sy challenges per month are eligible to win a coupon good for an additional 10% off all purchases from the SAS Store! The {SAS}sy Team would love to see how you interpret this challenge and how you are inspired by any of our other monthly challenges, which include ad, color, sketches, journaling, croppy cat and scrapbook play challenges.

My favorite element on this page is the Tattered Angels mist in "Marmalade", a wonderful shade of deep orange.  I was the lucky winner of the limited edition Spring 2011 Glimmer Mist Collection and I'm LOVING the colors!  If you have not purchased this set of mists, I highly recommend them.  I've also used "Sun Sisters" on another project, and it is like sunshine in a bottle, a perfect color of bright yellow for spring.  Thanks again to Tattered Angels for the generous prize!

Cute As A Button

Paper: American Crafts
Sticker: DCWV
Frame: Provo Craft
Thread: Iris
Miscellaneous: Buttons

Each month, Scrapbook News and Review Magazine asks crafters to dig deep into their stashes for a popular or once-trendy product to use when creating a layout. February's product was buttons, an item that seems to keep multiplying in my stash.  I had my daughter Scarlett help me find the colored buttons that I used on this page.  Her little fingers were the perfect size for grabbing buttons!

The May call features photo corners and/or photo turns.  Submit your layouts by April 12th for a chance to be published in the next issue of SNR!

I Hold The Key

Rub-on: Kaisercraft
Ink: Ranger
Miscellaneous: Book Page, Key, Twine

I've recently started making altered trading cards and I totally love the idea of making a little piece of art!  This is my very first ATC.  I have to admit that I didn't really know how to start as I have never created anything from scratch.  I love patterned paper, so I usually use that as my inspiration.  It was a new experience for me to look at a blank piece of poster board and create from there.  I have made several more ATCs and I'm having a lot of fun!  I am storing all of my work in my 7 Gypsies Mini Library Drawer. I was one of the 6 lucky winners of the Mini Drawer Giveaway, so a big thank you to 7 Gypsies for their generosity! My goal is to have this drawer FULL by the end of the year.

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking March Reveal!

I had a blast working with the Webster's Pages Spring Market Collection this month for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking! The coordinating embellishments in this collection are so fun and they all added some fabulous texture to my pages. I am LOVING the sheet of Webster's Pages alphabet stickers! With 2 sizes and 4 colors to choose from I was able to easily add contrasting colored titles to my pages and I didn't even come close to running out of letters after creating 6 pages! This Webster's Pages Spring Market pairs well with collections that many of you may have in your stash like Crate Paper's Snow Day and Pink Paislee's Old School. With a little Petaloo, Prima and LYB Feathers these layouts practically made themselves. For a full list of products used on each page, please visit my Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Design Team Gallery. Thanks so much for a fun and fresh kit Lauri!

I used the vellum sheet on this layout. I attached my photo to the cardstock beneath the vellum sheet and cut a window in the vellum for my photo. I framed my photo with a floral print sticker from the sticker sheet.  I love the mix of pearls and rhinestone on this new Prima flourish!

There's nothing better than fresh blueberries! The blueberry branch embellishment is soft and fuzzy and the Little Yellow Bicycle feathers are gorgeous in real life.

More fresh berries! The Webster's trim on this page is just as yummy!

This photo was taken during my honeymoon trip to Key West, Florida at the Hemingway House. I'm standing under a banana tree. I love bananas!  This Webster's collection actually has a banana seed packet on one of the patterned papers. Perfect!

This photo is of DH and me the summer after we graduated High School. My family took a vacation to Grand Haven, MI and we stayed in an old lighthouse. My parents had my brother and sister acting as their spies and I'm still not sure who took this photo, LOL. The fabric leaves I used on this page came packaged with the Webster's Pages Velvet Berries. They're not attached!

This is another photo taken while I was on my honeymoon in Key West.  If you haven't visited, I highly recommend it!

Paper: GCD Studios
Letters: American Crafts
Overlay: Prima
Journaling Card: Jenni Bowlin
Brick Patterned Packaging: Prima
Pen: Zig

I had so much fun creating this page!  All the butterflies on this page were cut from a single sheet of GCD Studios paper.  I LOVE butterflies and have been hoarding this patterned paper for such a long time.  If I had to make a list of my favorite paper of all time, this would be number one for sure!  This is a photo of me as a baby. The journaling is an Irish blessing and reads; "May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun and find your shoulder to light on, to bring you luck, happiness and wishes, today, tomorrow and beyond."

Feeling Groovy - {SAS}sy Scrapbook Play

Paper: Sassafras
Chipboard Letters: Girls' Paperie
Flowers: Sassafras, Petaloo
Doily: Hallmark
Stamps: Studio G
Mist: Clearsnap
Ink: Clearsnap
Miscellaneous: Lace, Ribbon, Staples

Who says there are rules in scrapbooking? The Scrapbook Play Challenges at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking will help you "cut loose" and open your eyes to all the rules you follow, consciously or not. You do not always have to use a self-portrait to feature yourself or loved ones on a scrapbook page. The challenge this month is to create a page about your favorite physical feature or personality trait or a personal habit and look for interesting ways to photograph it. This photo of my daughter Claire was taken before she had her first haircut. I loved her long silken locks, especially the way they curled at the ends. She borrowed my hat for some shade while we were blueberry picking last year and looked like such a flower child. I'm glad that I have this photo of her taken from behind, showing off her beautiful long hair.

As a reminder, all scrappers who complete the minimum amount of {SAS}sy challenges per month are eligible to win a coupon good for an additional 10% off all purchases from the SAS Store! The {SAS}sy Team would love to see how you interpret this challenge and how you are inspired by any of our other monthly challenges, which include ad, color, sketches, journaling, croppy cat and our new stash challenges. Happy scrapping!
