Be True To Yourself - Meg's Garden

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the gorgeous new English Rose Garden collection for Meg's Garden today. I used neutral patterned papers, Sunshine on Petals and the Trips to the Village Half Sheet, from the Forgotten Meadows Collection for the background of this page. I then added whipped spackle through a stencil, which I then colored with mist and ink, to the top half of the page to add some texture to my design. I cut large flowers from the English Rose Garden Roses and Flowers patterned paper to create a floral base for the photo.

I cut this gorgeous vintage photo from the English Rose Garden Cut and Create patterned paper. I matted this image with a Circle Paper Lace Doily and a piece of chipboard from by personal supply. I filled in the white space around the image with flowers and leaves from the Temptations in Cream and Sage Bundle and some pink flowers from my personal supply.

I cut this butterfly from the Butterfly Collection Cut and Create Ephemera Sheet.

I finished this layout with a rub-on title from my personal supply.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Gilded Lily ATC Book Box - Clearsnap + Graphic 45 Blog Hop!

Graphic 45 Gilded Lily ATC Book Box by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap

Hi! Welcome to the first day of the Clearsnap and Graphic 45 Blog Hop! I'm sharing the Graphic 45 ATC Book Box that I altered using ColorBox Graphic 45 Decades Dye Inkpads and the Graphic 45 Gilded Lily collection today.

Graphic 45 Gilded Lily ATC Book Box Covers by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap

The Decades inkpads feature dye based inks that create a vintage look that is perfect for both everyday distressing and more involved mixed media projects. This dye ink range features signature Graphic 45 colors that coordinate with a variety of Graphic 45 decorative papers. I used Photogenic, Venetian Lace, Bon Voyage Blue and Dark Cashmere Decades Ink on this project in three different ways to stain and age new paper for a more vintage look.

Graphic 45 Gilded Lily Dye Ink Distressed Kraft Tags by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap

The Graphic 45 ATC Book Box includes three kraft cards and a binder ring, in addition to the box, which were super fun to embellish!

How to Dye Chipboard and Tags with ColorBox Graphic 45 Decades Dye Ink by Dana Tatar

Step 1. Use a ColorBox Stylus Handle and Oval Stylus Tip with the ColorBox Graphic 45 Venetian Lace Decades Ink to add color to the edges of the book box and kraft tags.

Step 2. Attach ribbon to the front and back covers of the book box with hot glue.

Step 3. Apply Bon Voyage Blue Decades Ink to a craft mat, spritz with water, and use a paintbrush to apply the color to the inside box of the book. Let dry.

Step 4. Apply Bon Voyage Blue, Dark Cashmere, Photogenic and Venetian Lace Decades inks onto a craft mat, spritz with water, and dip the kraft tags into the pools of color. Blot the tags with a paper towel between colors. Let Dry.

Once this prep work was finished, I embellished the outside and inside of the book box and the tags with cardstock, Graphic 45 Gilded Lily patterned papers, Graphic 45 Ornate Metal Embellishments, stamping and ribbons, flowers and pearls from my personal supplies. The design possibilities for this piece are endless!

I used the ColoBox Bon Voyage Blue Decades Ink and a ColorBox Foam Tip Stylus to antique the edges of the blue patterned paper on this front cover.

Graphic 45 Gilded Lily ATC Book Box Back Cover by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap

I used ColoBox Bon Voyage Blue Decades Ink and a ColorBox Foam Tip Stylus again to antique the edges of the patterned paper on the back cover. I added some decorative scroll stamping with the ColorBox Dark Cashmere Decades Ink.

Graphic 45 Gilded Lily ATC Book Box Side by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap

I used the ColorBox Dark Cashmere and Venetian Lace Decades inks with a ColorBox Foam Tip Stylus to antique the edges of the patterned paper on this inside spine. The ColorBox Foam Tips and Stylus Handle made blending the ink easy and my fingers stayed clean. (You won't find any inky fingerprints on this project!)

Graphic 45 Gilded Lily ATC Book Box Spine by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap

I used the ColorBox Dark Cashmere and Bon Voyage Blue Decades inks with a ColorBox Foam Tip Stylus to antique the edges of the patterned paper on this outside spine. I stamped a decorative frame onto patterned paper using the Dark Cashmere Decades ink and then cut out the image to create a plaque on which I mounted the two small images. I used pieces of scrap cardboard to separate the layers on the spine to add dimension.

Graphic 45 Gilded Lily ATC Book Box Inside by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap

Here is a peek inside the box. I kept the design flat and simple, but there is room to build up the inside front cover as the tags do not take up all the space inside the inner box.

C'est Magnifique September Kit Projects

Hi! I'm sharing the projects I created with the C'est Magnifique September Kits today. I had a blast working with the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Hello Lovely collection. This collection is definitely on trend! I used items from the Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On and the Mixed Media Kit for my projects this month.

Personal Supplies: Prima Stencil

This layout features a photo of my oldest daughter, Claire. I mixed the C'est Magnifique Pale Peacock Paint from the Mixed Media Kit with Whipped Spackle and spread it over a Prima stencil to build up some texture on the background of this page. I then added a splash of bright orange using the C'est Magnifique Melon Mist from the Mixed Media Kit.

I cut flowers from the patterned papers in the Main Kit and mixed them with die-cuts and flowers from the Embellishment and Flower Add-Ons to frame my photo. The quote reads; "The whisper of a pretty girl can be heard of the roar of a lion."

I found this quote on the bottom of one of the patterned papers from the Main Kit and loved it and just had to add it to this layout.

This layout features a photo of my Niece Avalynn. She recently had her first ballet recital and was absolutely adorable in her costume!

The embellishments in the kits are so fun! I surrounded my photo with a mix of die-cuts, wood veneer words, fussy cut designs, flowers, ribbon and lace.

I cut several circle designs from the patterned paper and embellished them with enamel dots for a fun design element along the side of the page.

This large white feather butterfly is one of my favorite items from the kit. It has a fantastic glittery sparkle in real life!

Personal Supplies: Black Ink

I took this group of silly photos of my oldest daughter and my Nephew Dylan on a recent family vacation. These kids were two peas in a pod all week! This sweet boy looks so much like my brother it blows my mind. These photos really take me back to my childhood memories of all the great times I had with my brother.

I created my own patterned paper with the Prima Crackle Stamp from the Mixed Media Kit and some black ink. I made the title spot with a die-cut, a fussy cut heart and a flower.

This is my favorite layout of the bunch and features a photo of my sweet Niece Hadassah.

I built this embellishment cluster with a colorful mix of fussy cut papers, die-cuts, flowers and sequins. I'm loving the blue/black/white/orange color palette of this page!

I used the same paint and Whipped Spackle mix that I spread on my first layout here along with the stencil from the Mixed Media Kit. The text adds some fantastic subtle texture to the page. I really love the selection of small embellishments in this kit. They create a fantastic delicate design!

This Fabric Word from Prima is one of my favorite embellishments in this kit and it pairs wonderfully with the polka dot prints present on several of the patterned papers. The Hello Lovely papers have a great patterned strip on the bottom of each page and I used them repeatedly in my designs like this black strip; it made a great anchor for my title spot!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I have inspired you! I have one more layout to share for the September Sketch Challenge, so please stop by again on the first of the month.

The September Add-Ons and the Mixed Media and Card Kits are available for purchase now from the C'est Magnifique Store. The September Main Kit will be available for purchase on August 31st.

One Heck of a Good Time - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a fun Summer layout for the Anything Goes theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I recently took a vacation to my family lake house. My brother and sister also brought their families. It is not often that we can all get together. We took these photos of the kids on top of their new toy, a go-kart supplied by Grandpa. The older kids had a blast driving up and down the beach! Once the excitement died down, we were able to bribe them with ice cream to pose for a couple of pictures!

I built up layers of patterned paper and a journaling tag to form a colorful photo mat for my larger picture. I then adhered it on top of a medium-sized clock, from the 3 Clocks in 1 Set, that I stained with black mist.

I selected some stars from the Grab Bag of Mini Stars and colored them with red ink and glued them around the page for some bright accents.

You can find this chipboard and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Anything Goes Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. You don't have to use any Tando product, but, if you do, you will be entered into the draw twice! There are no limits to how many times you enter, however, we do request that you only enter your piece for 5 challenges. We look forward to seeing your creations!

DIY Cat's Eye Queue Print - Clearsnap

The ColorBox Cat's Eye Queues for this project were provided by Clearsnap. The piece of  Rustic Cherry BARC Wood for this project was supplied by Arc Crafts.

Hi! I'm sharing an 8.5x11 inch print that I made with ColorBox Cat's Eye® Queues and a sheet of adhesive-backed Rustic Cherry BARC Wood from Arc Crafts for Clearsnap today. I frequently find inspiration on Pinterest, especially for home decor pieces. I found a fantastic print created by Katie Harris. The first thought I had after how amazing her design was, was how the colorful shapes looked like impressions made with a ColorBox Cat's Eye® Queue. Rather than getting out a ruler and compass and spending time drawing lines and circles, I decided to create a free form print using the fantastic shape of the Queues as a guide. Stop by the Clearsnap Blog for more information on how you can create a similar print for your home!

The ColorBox Cat’s Eye® Queues of themed hues helped to take the guess work out of color coordination so I could design with more confidence. Six Cat's Eye® ink pads come grouped in a stack and offer a great way to get several inks at an affordable price. The ink pads separate for individual use, then snap together for easy storage. Each small ink pad is raised, and designed in a handy "cat's eye" shape with corners that are perfect for hard-to-reach areas, or creating interesting designs like I show above. These ink pads are ideal for direct-to-paper techniques. Apply the ink by holding the pad in hand or using a Cat's Eye® Adapter Set. There are dozens of ColorBox Cat’s Eye® Queues available with a variety of different ink formulas. What stack of Cat’s Eye® Queue ink pads feature your go-to color palette? The Fiesta Queue is my favorite.

Beautiful - Berry71Bleu

Hi! I'm sharing my take on Tanya's Yellow Mood Board Challenge for Berry71Bleu today. I selected a nice mix of yellow patterned papers from the Blue Fern Studios Paisley and Vine and Deja Vu collections and some patterned papers from my Zeus and Zoe Kit for this layout.

I applied a light layer of gesso and some yellow mist splatters to the base patterned paper and then built up layers of patterned paper, sheet music, fabric and zippers.

I used the Blue Fern Studios Fancy Signage to support the lamp post that I cut from the Deja Vu Luminaires patterned paper.

I cut the "Beautiful" portion from the Blue Fern Studios A Beautiful Mess chipboard quote for use as a title. I colored the word with white gesso, yellow acrylic paint and Rock Candy Distress Stickles.

I finished this page with a layered butterfly embellishment. The bottom layer is one of the butterflies from the Blue Fern Studios Gabrielle Butterfly Set and the top layer is the Calista Butterfly which is available from Kay's Etsy Shop.

I hope you can find the time to join our challenge this month!

School Days Card - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a card that I created for the Stencil theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. My girls have a couple weeks of Summer left before they head back to school, but we've begun purchasing school supplies for the new year so I have school on the brain. I thought it would be fun to create a back to school card.

I painted a Mixed Media Board with black chalkboard paint. I then used the Letters Mask with whipped spackle to add a portion of the alphabet to the top of the board. I finished the card with some die-cuts and a bow.

You can find this chipboard and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Stencil Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. Love This Mini Album - Clearsnap

Ink, Art Screen and blending toolds for this project supplied by Clearsnap.
Hi! I'm sharing a fun Summer themed mini album today that I created for the Clearsnap August Color Inspiration Challenge. At the beginning of every month, Clearsnap posts an inspiration challenge on the Clearsnap Blog featuring inspired fashion, trends, and a few inkpads to inspire you to create something during the month. The mood board this month features bold blues, teals and pinks. I've had the Bo Bunny Forever Young Class Kit for some time now and was excited to find that I matched this colorful board perfectly.

I used a variety of ColorBox pigment inks, including a new color designed by Teresa Collins, the Ann Butler Stars Art Screen and a ColorBox Blending Kit to add pattern and color to this fun mini album. I'm planning to post more photos of this album once I add the photos and embellishments, so stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by today! If you want the chance to have your work featured on the Clearsnap Facebook Page, link up your project based on this collage to the Clearsnap Blog.
