My Top 10 Layouts of 2010

I had over 300 layouts to choose from but I have managed to pick my top ten layouts from 2010. 2010 was a record year for me. I have created so many projects that I am proud of and have achieved several of my scrappy goals. To say that I was inspired by fellow crafters this year is a bit of an understatement. I can't wait to start 2011 with a fresh perspective. I have a long list of techniques that I want to try and I am super excited to get crafting. A big thank you to all of my followers! I appreciate all of your kind words and encouragement. Here's to another creative year!

Just ONE With The Dollies

Paper: Pink Paislee
Doily: Hallmark
Flower: Prima
Sticker: Deja Views

There's JUST ONE more Design Dollies Elements Challenge for 2010. With life so busy this time of year let's keep things simple. The Dollies want to see your projects using the following recipe:

•Just one piece of cardstock
•Just one patterned paper
•Just one word in the title/sentiment
•Just one photograph/image
•Just one embellishment

With such a simple recipe, you should be able to cook something up in no time at all! Link up your newly created project by midnight EST, Monday January 3rd, for your chance at the December prize. The Dolls are taking a break for the holidays next week, so you have an extra week to work your magic! Thanks for playing with the Design Dollies!

This is my last project as an official Dollie. I've enjoyed my time as a Dollie so much and want to thank my fellow Dollies and all the fabulous followers for the all the inspiration, kind words and encouragement!

Color Library Inspiration - SNR Magazine

Cardstock: Bazzill, Bo Bunny
Paper: Onirie, SEI
Letter Stickers: Pink Paislee
Rub-on: Fancy Pants
Journaling Card: Jenni Bowlin
Paper Tape: Pink Paislee
Thread: Iris
Pen: Zig
Miscellaneous: Button

One of my favorite monthly features in Scrapbook News and Review Magazine is the Color Library. Each issue staffers explain how and why they were inspired by the color palettes and inspiration pieces. I love seeing the different ways each staffer is inspired by the same piece. This is my layout from the October issue. I thought this color palette was perfect for fall, and I especially liked the pop of blue. I have trouble creating clean and simple layouts, so I was drawn to this inspiration piece for its simplicity. The fact that it also shared the colors of the palette made visualizing my page that much easier. I thought the inspiration piece was perfect as is, so I only swapped the tag for a journaling card. I print more of my photos in sepia during the fall months because I like the way the brown tones blend with the paper colors I use for all my seasonal layouts.

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking December Reveal!

I had so much fun working with Atomic Soup by Jillibean Soup for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking this month! As a former biochemist, I really appreciate the chemical equations, elements and lab supplies that are featured in this collection. For those of you who aren't as nerdy as me, the b-sides of these papers are fabulous stripe and circle patterns and are very versatile. The primary colors of these papers make them perfect for use all year long. These papers also coordinate very well with previous Jillibean Soup collections. Some Jillibean Soup colored twine, LYB jewels and Prima flowers were the perfect embellishments for these papers. I hope you enjoy my layouts and consider purchasing this collection! Please see my {SAS}sy Design Gallery for a full list of supplies used on each layout.

Sketch Day With The Design Dollies

Paper: Bella Blvd, DCWV, Hambly Screen Prints, KI Memories, Scrapworks
Letters: American Crafts
Chipboard: American Crafts
Ribbon: Prima
Mist: Tattered Angels
Sketch: Kristy Dalman

One of my favorite things about Thursday is the new sketch reveal at the Dollhouse! Kristy has another awesome sketch for this week. My second design term with the Dollies is almost complete and I have finally conquered the trifecta! I combined all the challenges posted this week while creating my page and incorporated Leah's fabulous color combo (brown, gold and a neutral), Karen's challenge to pile on at least 5 layers and Kristy's awesome sketch. The only people more happy with this page than me are my two girls, who are in love with Kesha. Yep, I get to listen to this CD 24/7! You have until Wednesday December 8th at midnight EST to create something using this sketch. If you'd like to rock the Trifecta you have until Sunday December 12th at midnight EST to submit your project.

Don't forget about the Dollie Call! Remember, you have until December 10th to submit your application! Check out all the details HERE! Good luck to all who apply. It's great to be a Dollie!

I created this page for the December Scrapbook Play Challenge at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. Who says there are rules in scrapbooking? Our {SAS}sy Scrapbook Play Challenges will help you “cut loose” and open your eyes to all the rules you follow, consciously or not. Who says that everything on a scrapbook page needs to be straight and perfect? Make a bold statement this month by placing everything on your page at a different angles. I usually spend a lot of time making sure all my elements are straight on my page. It was nice to relax and fun to place pieces at different angles. I took this photo of my daughter at Starbucks. We like to stop there on our way home from the park to relax and recharge.

As a reminder, all scrappers who complete the minimum amount of {SAS}sy Challenges per month are eligible to win a $10 gift certificate to the SAS Store! The {SAS}sy Team would love to see how you interpret this ad and how you are inspired by any of our other monthly challenges, which include scrapbook play, color, sketches, journaling, greeting card and croppy cat challenges. Happy scrapping!
