January 2014 - Quick Quotes

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the January Club Q Kits for Quick Quotes today. The Altered Kits for January are calendar kits. I added the January calendar to my page as a fun way to record the date.

I was thrilled to find some bold, vibrant colors in this kit! I paired the navy blue and teal papers from the Page Layout Kits with a bright lime green patterned paper from the Altered Kit for a fresh feel. I inked the edges of the green patterned paper with Limeade PowderPuff Chalking Ink for an extra pop of color. The calendar kit included cards to record special dates for each month and I used one for my journaling.

I embellished the pattern on the calendar with rhinestones. Hint: I struggle with bling placement all the time, so I used the white dots of the printed design as a guide and adhered rhinestones directly on top of them for a perfect sprinkling of sparkle.

I rounded the edges of a square vellum sentiment to create a circular embellishment to tuck behind my photos. Tip: I added adhesive to just the bottom edge of the vellum circle, which I then covered with a photo, for a seamless design.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Keep Calm and Sparkle Card - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a card for Tando Creative today. The theme on the Tando Challenge Blog this month is "Bold and Bright." I chose a fun neon patterned paper for the base of my card.

I selected a large star, from the Grab Bag of Stars, and colored it with white, orange, pink and black mist. I inked the edges of the star with yellow and black ink. I played up the star theme with some star and sentiment stamps from Paper Wings Productions. I wanted to add a bit if sparkle to my card, so I finished the chipboard star with dots of glitter glue.

Up for grabs this month are 4 pieces of Tando chipboard of your choice!  All you have to do is create a piece incorporating the monthly theme and link to the Tando Creative Challenge Blog. You don't have to use Tando products, but, if you do you'll be entered into the draw twice, doubling your chances to win. We don't have many rules, as rules spoil the fun, but in order to be in with a chance of winning we do ask that your project is entered for a maximum of 5 challenges, including Tando.

Thanks for stopping by today!

XOXO Card - Moxxie

Hi! I'm sharing a simple card that I created with the NEW A Night To Remember Collection for Moxxie today! I loved the dot pattern on the "My Date" patterned paper and used that for the base of my card. I embellished the card face with some simple colored rhinestones and designer trim.

For the inside of the card I embellished a piece of patterned paper with a sticker from the XOXO Collection. A card like this would make a great prom invite, but would also work well for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday.

Cold Hands Warm Heart Card - Craft-Dee BowZ

Hi! I'm sharing my first project as a member of the Craft-Dee BowZ team today! I like to dress in layers during the cold Winter months, so in keeping with that trend, I created this card that also sports several layers of patterned paper, cardstock and ribbon.

I topped the cozy pair of mittens (Memory Box Precious Mittens) with a perfect double bow. This bow measures 1.5 inches from loop to loop. I wouldn't have been able to create a beautiful bow of such small size without my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool.

Feather Thank You Card Set - Couture Creations

Hi! I'm sharing a thank you card set that is quick and easy to create for Couture Creations today. I used the NEW Feather Die from the Secret Treasures Decorative Die Collection. I colored my feathers with Gelatos and added a subtle shimmer to them with Crystalina Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue.

Step One: Apply several bright shades of Gelatos to a craft mat.

Step Two: Mist the Gelato color with water and blend with a finger.

Step Three: Press a piece of white cardstock onto the pool of color, press down and rub the back of the paper to transfer the color and then peel the cardstock from the craft mat and allow to dry.

Step Four: Cut four feather from the colored cardstock using the Feather Die and add a light coat of Crystalina Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue to each feather.

Step Five: Cut two pieces of 8.5 x 11 inch kraft cardstock in half and fold to create four card bases. Stamp a thank you sentiment onto the bottom of each card. Attach a feather the the top center of each card with Double Sided Tape to finish.

Here's a closer shot of one of the feathers.

Mitten Wall Hanging - CSW Distributors

Hi! I'm sharing a wall hanging I created for CSW Distributors today. I'm ready for Spring, but until then, I thought I would cozy up my scrap space with a pair of mittens. The Powder Puff Embossing Folder, from the Couture Creations Fresh and Fun Collection, added a fun frosty pattern to my mittens.

I embellished each mitten with ribbon, flowers and a die-cut and then added some sparkle with Moonlight Self-Adhesive Pearls and Crystalina Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue.

Skate - Moxxie

Hi! I'm sharing 2 fun-sized layouts for Moxxie today. I recently took my daughters ice skating for the first time and the Winterland collection was the perfect line to document my fun.

I printed several different sized photos and was having a hard time arranging them on a 12x12 page. I solved my problem by creating 2 12x6 mini pages! Both of these pages fit side by side in a 12x12 page protector.

I embossed a piece of foil and highlighted the raised pattern with glitter glue for a fun and frosty photo mat.

The Winterland Die-Cut Sheet has is made up of different shapes that are great for adding layers to your pages.

The Die-Cut Sheets also has sentiments that work great as photo tags.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

King & Queen ATCs - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a pair of ATCs for the Fun and Games theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I mounted each playing card onto an Artist Trading Card base. If you've never used a Tando ATC, they are absolutely fantastic and hold up to several layers of wet mediums and all kinds of abuse!

I selected a heart from the Grab Bag of Hearts and painted it red. Once the paint dried I applied some Inka-Gold over the top and then sealed it with a coat of glaze. The text on this card reads "You hold the key to my heart."

I colored this key from the Set of 5 Keys the same way. The text on this card reads "love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness."

Wooden Raindrop Bracelet + Giveaway! - Paper Wings Productions

Hi! I'm sharing how I put together this wooden raindrop bracelet on the Paper Wings Productions Blog today. I used the Paper Wings Productions Creative Girl Mixed Media Kit for this piece. The Cosmo Cricket Wooden Shape Rainbow Set included in the kit caught my eye. The raindrops have holes at the top and bottom and they were just begging to be linked together! I stamped the vintage lace pattern onto the raindrops and then added color with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Nantucket Pearls Sidekick Set, which gave my wood pieces a pretty pink and peach color palette with a subtle shimmer.

Stop by the Paper Wings Productions Blog for the full tutorial! As a way of saying thanks for visiting my blog and the PWP blog, I'm giving away a beautiful Vintage Lace Clear Stamp! All you have to do to enter is comment on my wooden raindrop bracelet post on the PWP blog. I'll share the winner here on Sunday with my next post for Paper Wings Productions. :)

I'm entering this piece into the Lindy's Stamp Gang January Color Challenge.

Baby, It's Cold Outside - Quick Quotes

Hi! I'm sharing a frosty Winter themed layout that I created using the January Club Q Page Layouts Kits (Option A) for Quick Quotes today. I combined the two double page layout kits and created one single page layout that is full of layers and bling!

The font of this die-cut title is so fun! I added color with some Tahiti PowderPuff Chalking Ink and some script with a stamp and Java PowderPuff Chalking Ink. I covered the letters with some glitter glue for an icy accent.

There are several tags and vellum sentiments included in the kits this month. I created a layered photo tag with some of the pieces. I applied the same treatment to the chipboard snowflakes as I did to the title letters, except I added a gorgeous Want2Scrap rhinestone snowflake over the top instead of glitter glue.

I also created a pull-out journal tag that I tucked behind my photo. I applied Coconut White PowderPuff Chalking Ink around the edge of the tag.

My favorite accent on this page is the layered frame I created. These frames were included in the kit and held die-cut pieces. Once I remove the die-cuts, I layered the frames on top of each other, flipped the top layer over to reveal the purple B-side, and threaded ribbon through the decorative edge for a feminine touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to mix the separate page kits together to create a unique design! I also want to remind you to enter the current Friday Challenge, which is all about a Bright and Shiny New Year. We want to see your projects that include sequins, gems and glitter! You can find all the details HERE.
