Yesterday - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created for the Stencil theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I used the Stripes and Giovanna Spiral stencils with Dylusions Spray to create a quick and colorful background for this page. I saved a birthday card for the cool Beatles overlay and finally used it on a project with some of my favorite lyrics from the song "Yesterday." I finished the page with some cardstock stickers, acrylic frames and a doodled border.

Let's Drink Wine Postcards - Canvas Corp

Hi! I'm sharing the results of another Crew Challenge for Canvas Corp today - a quick and easy set of postcard invites to a wine tasting party. It has been several months since my group of friends has gathered together to enjoy each others company, so I created these invitations for an upcoming party. It is not always easy to find that perfect invitation in the store, so I created my own postcards that are ready to mail in a couple simple steps. I stamped both sides of the postcard with some wine themed stamps. Next, I personalized the invitation by including a photo taken at the last get-together. Easy enough to assemble after a couple glasses of wine and also cost effective!

Beautiful - Meg's Garden

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the stunning NEW Forgotten Meadows collection for Meg's Garden today. I took this photo of my daughter last Easter and it is one of my favorites. It is hard to believe that she was only 5 years old when this photo was taken. She looks so grown up!

I love the hanging purple blooms that run along the top edge of the Wisteria Shade patterned paper. I laid the coordinating 4x12" strip along the bottom of the page to create a similar wisteria border along the bottom edge of the layout. I used a stencil with whipped spackle on the center of the page to help hide the seam.

I created a lace border for my photo by cutting the edge of a Paper Lace Doily and piecing it together to size. I attached Antique Champagne Tassels to the corners for some added flair. I cut images from the Forgotten Meadows Cut and Create patterned paper and layered them under and on top of my photo. I topped the die-cut flowers with an Aubergine and White Apple Blossom. I added a bit of bling to the photo, embellishing the strap of my daughter's dress (much to her delight), with a piece of Square Silver Diamante Trim.

I added more cuts from the Forgotten Meadows Cut and Create patterned paper on the right side of my photo. I filled in the flower cluster with some Velvet Leaves and Purple Metallic Ribbon.

Star Struck - Berry71Bleu

Hi! I'm sharing my take on Caroleanne's March Flowers Galore Challenge for Berry71Bleu today. I used the gorgeous 7 Dots Studio Destination Unknown collection to scrap this super cute photo of my niece and fashion idol.

I layered patterned paper, die-cuts, stickers, flowers and tag under and on top of my photo.

I spread black crackle paste over a star stencil to add texture to the background of my page. The stars help to play up the theme of the sentiment stickers I added to the page; "Star Struck" and "Shoot for the Moon." I think this collection is fantastic for non-travel themed pages.

I added these super cute Scrapiniec chipboard pennants to a piece of twine.

I hope you will find the time to join the challenge this month! Our generous sponsors provided prizes with international shipping included! Yay!

C'est Magnifique April Kit Projects

Hi! I'm sharing my April Kit creations for C'est Magnifique today. This kit is absolutely beautiful and I had a lot of fun cutting and layering patterned papers and die-cuts on my projects this month. The vibrant pink and teal floral accents help to brighten up my pages. The stunning floral prints in this kit have me thinking Spring! I used the April Main Kit, Flower Add-On, Embellishment Add-On and Magnifique Mixed Media Kit for each of the layouts I am sharing today. My Sister-in-Law provided me with these gorgeous photos of my niece, who will be thrilled to get some happy scrappy mail!

I cut away portions of the FabScraps Fleur patterned paper and backed it with fresh polka dot Lemoncraft Tea Roses patterned paper to create a more colorful background for this layout.

I added color to the page with fussy cuts and flowers. The green leaves are leftovers I had from the March Flower Add-On.

I created the title for this page with a die-cut sentiment and Typewriter Key Stickers from the Mixed Media Kit.

I absolutely love this photo of my niece! I think all scrappers can relate to this situation! Posing for pictures certainly has a short time frame, especially if there are wardrobe changes involved.

I used the pink crown from the Main Kit as a stencil to add some texture to the background of this page. I added some subtle color along the woodgrain by using the Ranger Juniper Paint Dabber from the Mixed Media Kit.

The chalkboard tags from the Mixed Media Kit work great with a white gel pen.

I played up the floral theme for this layout. The pretty prints on my niece's outfit were just perfect for this patterned paper!

I used the stencil and paint from the Mixed Media Kit to trace and color the butterflies onto the background of this page. I embossed the wooden bow with the C'est Magnifique Mystic Pink Embossing Powder included in the Mixed Media Kit. The mix of pink and black embossing powders yields a fantastic textured finish.

I built this title spot with pieces of chipboard, die-cuts, flowers and pins. I cut the chipboard from the Mixed Media Kit in half and used the "Sweet" portion here. I colored the chipboard word with the C'est Magnifique Starry Night Glaze from the Mixed Media Kit.

I'm quite happy with how this altered piece turned out. I used items from the Mixed Media Kit, Flower Add-On and Embellishment Add-On for this altered hanger.

I hope I have inspired you today! I have one more layout to share for the April Sketch Challenge on the first of the month.  I have really enjoyed playing with this kit! If you are interested in the April  Kit or Add-Ons a limited amount of kits are available for purchase from the C'est Magnifique Store while supplies last! Make sure to stop by here on the 31st for the full April Kit reveal.

Hi! I'm up on the Clearsnap blog today sharing this vibrant blueberry lace doily bowl. It has been a long and gray Winter, and now that the snow is beginning to melt, I’m ready for some color! My family and I go blueberry picking every year, and until I can go pick some fresh berries, I can enjoy this colorful home accent and think about all the delicious recipes that I want to make. Good Luck Canvas - Susan K. Weckesser

Hi! I'm sharing a festive canvas that I created for the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday for Susan K. Weckesser today. I gathered some of my favorite Susan K. Weckesser products along with Canvas Corp and Prima goodies to create this home decor piece.

I used the small heart from Susan's A Little Grunge Love Stamp Set to create the shamrock focal point. I stamped six hearts onto white cardstock, cut them out, and then layered the hearts before arranging them on a gold doily. I created mini shamrocks by cutting excess petals from paper flowers to embellish the top corners of the canvas.

I cut the letters from Susan K. Weckesser patterned paper and then outlined each letter with a green marker.

Before embellishing the canvas I sprayed it with gold mist and then stamped it with a stamp from Susan's new Grunge Fun 3x4 Stamp Set, which is available from A Jillian Vance Design. To finish the canvas I spritzed it with white mist to tone down the gold shimmer a bit.

Charmed Mixed Media Board - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a Mixed Media Board that I altered for the Crackle Effect theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog. I'm thinking green for my upcoming St. Patrick's Day celebrations! I used Martha Stewart Weather Crackle Effect between two layers of acrylic paint to weather the base of this board. This is one of my favorite crackle techniques because it can be achieved in under 5 minutes and the result is a beautifully crackled smooth surface, which is great for embellishing. These Mixed Media Boards are slightly larger than an Artist Trading Card and I like to give them away for special greetings as an alternative to a card.

http://www.tando-creative.co.uk/catalog/mixed-media-boards-80mm-116mm-p-791.html

You can find two sizes of Mixed Media Boards in the Tando Creative Retail Store. We'd love to have you join the Crackle Effect Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. Lyrics Canvas - Gauche Alchemy

Hi! I'm sharing the canvas that I created for the Gauche Alchemy March "All About the Quotes" Challenge. Music has helped me through all the tough times in my life. I'm a huge introvert and often times need to recharge alone. When I'm looking for a connection I usually turn to music. I created this canvas to hang in my craft space as an ode to all the talented and courageous musicians out there who have helped me get though my darkest days by writing about and recording theirs.

I covered an 8.5x11 piece of cardboard with music sheet patterned paper. Next, I added a light coat of gesso and some Gelato watercolor before stamping this Frank Ocean quote onto the piece using black Archival ink. I stamped a checkered border and filled it in with black and white pens to frame the page.

Thanks for stopping by today! We want to know how your favorite quote, lyric, poem, dialogue from a movie or pick up line inspires you! Link up your newly created original artwork HERE by the end of the month.

Happy Birthday Card - Susan K. Weckesser

Hi! I'm sharing a birthday card that I created for Susan K. Weckesser today. Today is Susan's birthday and the Creative Contributors though it would be fun to surprise Susan with some birthday cards. Susan is a huge inspiration and positive force for me. It seems like no matter what she is going through she always manages to look on the bright side, which is a character trait that I aspire to have. She makes it look easy!

I created some "balloons" with circles cut from my favorite Color Burst patterned paper.

This sweet girl and "You are Awesome" sentiment stamps are from Susan's NEW Love Ya Whole Bunches 3x4 Stamp Set available from Jillian Vance Design. I stamped both the image and sentiment with black Archival Ink and colored the girl with Faber-Castell watercolor pencils.

Please visit the Susan K. Weckesser Blog and help us wish her a Happy Birthday!
