Scatter Joy - Quick Quotes

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the fantastic Dusty Road collection for Quick Quotes today. I love the purple and teal that is so prominent on the patterned papers in this line. I immediately knew what photos I wanted to scrap, some of my favorite of my youngest daughter picking dandelions.

The fun circle designs on the Dusty Road 200 patterned paper reminded me of fluffy dandelions. I cut out several of the circles to create my flowers. I added Coconut White PowderPuff Chalking Ink with a sponge to the edges of the flower petals. I created the flower stems from the coordinating cardstock from the Dusty Road 6x6 Paper Pad and some Amaretto PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

I can always count on Quick Quotes to have the perfect sentiment for my project. I selected the "Scatter Joy" piece from the Dusty Road Chipboard Die-Cut Set. I'm sure my daughter has scattered dandelion seeds all over the neighborhood, much to the joy of all the other children!

Zoofari - Moxxie/Inspired Blueprints #100

Hi! I'm sharing a fun layout with the Moxxie Zoofari collection that I put together with the help of Inspired Blueprints Sketch #100. The animal print papers in this line are so fun and easy to pair with photos of your favorite animal! I have a season pass to my local zoo, so you'll be seeing more layouts with this line soon!

The Zoofari Combo 12x12 Sticker Sheet has several designs that are perfect for embellishing your pages. I used a decorative border sticker and a giraffe sticker to play up my giraffe themed layout. My favorite feature is the alphabet stickers, which I used for my title.

If you love spending time at the zoo, this collection is a must-have! If you're looking for some inspiration, you can find more Inspired Blueprints sketches on Pinterest. Become a follower of the Inspired Blueprints Blog and join the Inspired Blueprints Community so you don't miss any sketches.

Tweet - Tando Creative

I'm sharing a layout that I created for Tando Creative today. The theme on the challenge blog this month is numbers. I didn't have any chipboard numbers, so I got a little creative and made this numbered birdcage with a Large Birdcage and Mini Book Plate. I added a small numbered plaque to the front of the cage. I think my little bird looks right at home!

Up for grabs this month are 4 pieces of Tando chipboard of your choice!  All you have to do is create a piece incorporating the monthly theme and link to the Tando Creative Challenge Blog. You don't have to use Tando products, but, if you do you'll be entered into the draw twice, doubling your chances to win. We don't have many rules, as rules spoil the fun, but in order to be in with a chance of winning we do ask that your project is entered for a maximum of 5 challenges, including Tando.

Thanks for stopping by today!  We can't wait to see your creations.

Couture Creations & Core'dinations Blog Hop!

It's Day 2 of the Couture Creations and Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock Blog Hop! I'm so excited to team up with Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock and share my project with you!

I created this layout with several of my favorite Couture Creations Embossing Folders, Dies and Embellishments and some fabulous Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock from the Whitewash, Pastels and Neutrals collections.

Couture Creations makes creating layers of texture super fun and the high quality of Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock ensures that I get a clean impression or cut every time! I used the new Couture Creations Blossom Doily Die to create a pretty border under my photo. I fussy cut the leaves from a piece of Core'dinations Pastel ColorCore Cardstock that I embossed with the Couture Creations Great Fubu Embossing Folder.

I used the Couture Creations All A Flutter Embossing Folder and a piece of Core'dinations Pastel ColorCore Cardstock to create the butterfly pattern on this layout. I ran a piece Core'dinations Neutral ColorCore Cardstock through my Dymo Label Maker to create the embossed journaling. I used the Couture Creations Sanding Block on both pieces of cardstock to help the design pop and to let the ColorCore of the cardstock shine through.

Couture Creations Embossing Folders work great with foam letters! I embossed my letters with the Hepburn Embossing Folder to add the subtle flourish pattern.

I scored lines on a piece of Core'dinations Pastel ColorCore Cardstock and then sanded the cardstock with my Couture Creations Sanding Block to highlight the lines. I embellished this piece of cardstock with Couture Creations Self Adhesive Pearls. I love that each set of pearls contains a variety of sizes!

Vacation ATCs - Paper Wings Productions

TGIF! I'm sharing one last project with the June Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit from Paper Wings Productions today. I had some fun with the clip art sheet and created a set of vacation themed artist trading cards. I had some manila ATCs and gesso left over from my April Kit. After cutting some clip art images from the sheet and adhering them to ATCs, I applied a light coat of gesso to the pictures to help make individual images pop.

I added clouds to each image with the Cloudy Cling Stamp Set and the Rich Cocoa Memento ink. I then highlighted the edges of each ATC with Distress Ink.

I embellished each ATC with the twine, label stickers, journal cards and alphabet stickers from the kit. The June Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit is still available from the Paper Wings Productions Store! It's perfect for all your Summer crafting!

Here's another look at the other projects that I created with this kit:

DIY Flocked Cardstock Card - Couture Creations

Hi! I'm sharing how to make your own flocked cardstock with an embossing folder and flocking powder for Couture Creations today.  The raised areas of the embossed cardstock provides a flat surface that is ideal for adding flock.

Step One: Emboss a piece of cardstock with a favorite Couture Creations embossing folder.  I used the Couture Creations Hepburn Embossing Folder from the Elegance Collection.

Step Two: Choose several colors of flocking powder.  Use a glue pad, craft glue or a double-sided adhesive to apply the flocking powder to the cardstock.

Step Three: Pour the flocking over the cardstock, pat down using a scrap piece of paper, and shake of the excess.  Repeat for the remaining colors of flock.

Step Four: Use a heat tool to set the flock for a more permanent finish.  Trim the excess cardstock from the flocked design.

Step Five: Mount the flocked cardstock onto a card base and embellish to finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Batty ATC - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a fun artist trading card for the Free For All theme this week at Tando Creative. I've been reading poetry to my girls and was inspired by a Shel Silverstein poem:

“The baby bat
Screamed out in fright,
'Turn on the dark,
I'm afraid of the light.”

I had a lot of fun creating this card and was so happy to use this little bat from the Mixed Halloween Grab Bag for something other than a Halloween craft! I covered the bat with a thick coat of black embossing powder and added some red pearls for the eyes. I colored the small lantern with mist and added some glaze for a glossy finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Supplies: ATC Base: Ranger; Chipboard: Tando Creative; Light Bulb: Tim Holtz;  Pearls: Kaisercraft; Embossing Powder: Creative Inspirations Paint; Mist: Heidi Swapp; Glaze: Sakura Hobby Craft; Coal Gelato: Faber-Castell; Label Tape: Dymo; Other: Staples, Chain; Poem: Shel Silverstein
